Mayor Paul Herold called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
Motion was made by Glass, seconded by Leuenberger, to open the Public Hearing for the Max Tax Levy for FY21-22. All Aye. Carried. No citizens were in attendance, and no comments had been received regarding the publication.
Motion was made by Glass, seconded by P. Schmitt, to close the Public Hearing. All Aye. Carried.
Motion was then made by K. Schmitt, seconded by P. Schmitt, to approve Resolution 320, Approving the Max Tax Levy of $12.53 for FY21-22. All Aye. Carried.
Council reviewed the full budget for FY21-22 and discussed line items within the budget. Tax rate would increase from $13.166 to $13.907. There are some unknowns with the Lagoon Project and 2nd Well Project in both FY20-21 budget as well as FY21-22. Christina Bodensteiner has announced her retirement to the Library Board, effective mid-March, 2021.
Motion was made by P Schmitt, seconded by Leuenberger, to set the Public Hearing for the Budget for March 10, 2021 at 7pm at the Community Center. All Aye. Carried.
Halina from NEIA RC&D is working to set up a Community Facilities Program meeting. We need to create a steering committee to meet and discuss potential projects within the community. Ron Franzen sent out a flyer in the Businessman’s Association letter to advise citizens who may have interest in being on the committee.
Discussed moving to tablets for all council to have exclusive emails and to receive agenda info and all city correspondence.
Cost for 8 tablets would be approximately $4,800. Would probably need to use LOST funds to purchase. Also discussed getting a City credit card to use instead of employees having to use their personal cards and information and then get reimbursed. More discussion at next meeting.
